The Book Fair is returning to Heath (Hayes)! From 10/23-10/27, the Scholastic Book Fair will be returning to the Heath Library. It is a very exciting time! I am hopeful that a few volunteers can help each day.

What do volunteers do?

On the set-up day (Friday 20th October 8:30 a.m. ~10:30 a.m.): Moving tables, chairs, furniture, carts of books; putting out decorations and book displays; tidying and facing up stock; getting it ready for the afternoon staff preview. This is quite physical and can be hard work!

During Book Fair: Some times will be very busy and some will be quiet; assisting children with finding thing, making choices, understanding their money (little ones will definitely come with a bag of pennies and have no idea what to do), understanding prices and how tax affects them, restocking, straightening up, monitoring etc. I will do all the cash register business, so you won't need to worry about handling money or the register.

On the shut-down day (Friday 27th October 12 p.m. ~2:00 p.m.): Packing it all up, moving boxes, furniture, chairs; resetting the library to normal. Like set-up, this is quite physical and a good workout!
